PA House Majority Whip Rep. Dan Miller welcomes everyone to the 2024 Disability and Mental Health Summit, and discusses key legislation and budget priorities relating to mental health and people living with disabilities.
Friday Keynote Speaker
Rep.Miller welcomes Lt. Gov. Austin Davis to talk about his plans to address mental health concerns in the commonwealth. Miller also sat down with Allegheny County Executive Sara Innamorato and Erin Dalton, Director of Allegheny County Department of Human Services, to discuss the county's plan to address the needs of people with disabilities.
Special Guest Speaker - Gov. Josh Shapiro
Gov. Josh Shapiro joins Rep. Miller to talk about his administration's approach and goals for addressing mental health concerns in the commonwealth.
Thursday Legislative Panel - Wheelchair Quality and Safety Checks
Rep. Miller leads a legislative panel discussion centering around the importance of wheelchair "well check" visits and the need for insurance to cover them.
Friday Legislative Panel - Mental Health Staffing Needs
Rep. Miller holds a legislative panel discussion designed to foster a better understanding of the professional staffing that makes up PA's mental health system and where staffing shortfalls are today and tomorrow.
Thursday Legislative Panel - Mental Health and Fosster Care
Rep. Miller brings together legislators, foster care providers and youth advocates to discuss the need for a holistic, child-focused approach to foster care.
Friday Legislative Panel - Disability & Mental Health Needs of Incarcerated
Closing out the 11th Annual Disability and Mental Health Summit, Rep. Miller brigns together legislators, corrections officers, administrators and advocates to discuss the specific needs of incarcerated people with disabilities and mental health challenges and how things can be improved.
Band Together Pittsburgh Performance
A new addition for the 2024 Disability and Mental Health Summit, Rep. Miller welcomes Band Together Pittsburgh's musicians to perform for summit attendees. Band Together Pittsburgh uses music to inspire and enrich the lives of those on the autism spectrum
