Mt. Lebanon receives $35,000 in funding for EV infrastructure

(Mar 30, 2026)

MT. LEBANON, March 30 – This past week, the municipality of Mt. Lebanon received $35,000 for electric vehicle purchasing and infrastructure, part of a more than $1.47 million investment from the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection. Of the $35,000 investment, $20,000 went to Mt. Lebanon Public Works for the purchase and installation of two dual-port Level 2 electric vehicle charging stations. The other $15,000 went to the Mt. Lebanon Municipality and School District EV Program to purchase two Class 1 electric passenger vehicles, one Class 2 electric pickup truck, and two light-duty electric passenger vans. The funding comes through the Alternative Fuel Incentive Grant program, aimed at helping communities purchase alternative fuel vehicles, build infrastructure to support electric vehicles, save on fuel costs, and improve air quality across Pennsylvania. “I’m proud to have this funding secured for my district, particularly in Mt. Lebanon, where transportation is key,” state Rep. Jen Mazzocco said. “At a time when gas prices continue to soar, it’s critical to invest in alternative fuel sources, and electric vehicle infrastructure continues to be a key investment in Mt. Lebanon and across the district.” Projects under the AFIG investment will deploy 47 alternative fuel vehicles and install three new charging stations across the state.
