I live in Dormont with my husband and two daughters. I have spent my career and community life in public service. I earned my Master of Arts in Teaching degree from the University of Pittsburgh in 2011 and have been an English teacher at Allderdice High School for the past 15 years. I’ve been the debate team coach and National Honor Society sponsor, and I’ve served my colleagues as a building representative, executive board member, and political action committee chair in my union, the Pittsburgh Federation of Teachers.
I’ve also spent over eight years as a member of the Borough of Dormont Council and several years as a board member of the Dormont Community Development Corporation, where I worked to plan our Dormont Pride event and co-chair the Dormont Free Pantry.
All this experience has shaped my values and will guide my work as a legislator. I’ll fight for strong public schools that serve all our children, policies that support working families like affordable healthcare, childcare, and housing, and bringing resources to the district to strengthen our already very livable communities.
