As you might know, on January 16, 2024, there will be a special election for all registered North Penn School District voters. Voters will be asked to vote on incurring debt to move ninth grade to North Penn High School as part of the planned school infrastructure upgrades.On Tuesday, December 5, from 5:30 pm, residents can take a tour of the high school, just like the one I took, and discuss the upcoming referendum. I’ve had a lot of requests for an update on my Cost-of-Living-Adjustment bills for retired teachers, public workers, police and fire. On October 17, I hosted a rally at the Capitol to urge my colleagues to bring these bills forward, where I was joined by Scott Brown, a retired teacher and former Hatfield Township Commissioner. For Constitution Week, I was invited to celebrate with the Daughters of the Revolution Towamencin Chapter at Montgomery County Courthouse. This past weekend was a busy one, as we also enjoyed Souderton Third Friday, North Penn Mosque Community Day, the arrival of Fairmount Fire Company’s new fire trucks, and the Egyptian Food Festival at St. Mary & St. Kyrillos Coptic Orthodox Church in Hatfield. “I’m really looking forward to holding this event for the older residents of our community to help connect them with available services from all levels of government,” Malagari said. “Every day, my district office staff works with our seniors on Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications, disability placards, SEPTA Senior Key Cards and a host of other services. By bringing federal, state, county and local offices together under one roof, older residents will be able to have their questions answered all in one place.” Read more
