For Constitution Week, I was invited to celebrate with the Daughters of the Revolution Towamencin Chapter at Montgomery County Courthouse. This past weekend was a busy one, as we also enjoyed Souderton Third Friday, North Penn Mosque Community Day, the arrival of Fairmount Fire Company’s new fire trucks, and the Egyptian Food Festival at St. Mary & St. Kyrillos Coptic Orthodox Church in Hatfield. The long Labor Day weekend marks the change in the season, along with the return to school for our students, teachers, staff, and parents. It’s a time to enjoy with friends and family, and of course, to reflect on how we must continue to strive towards family-sustaining jobs and safe working environments for all. This includes fair pay, preserving sick time and family leave, breaks and weekends, overtime pay, and much more. All of these worker protections came about through hard work and advocacy, and I’m proud to stand up for workers who keep our country and commonwealth moving. Read more

This week the Senate finally signed the budget we passed back in July, and Governor Shapiro promptly signed it. We’re seeing large investments into education, including for our Souderton Area and North Penn School Districts, which is a good starting point for us to continue the hard work to enhance our commonwealth’s school funding landscape.
