Malagari celebrates $300,000 grant with North Penn School District

LANSDALE, June 11 – State Rep. Steve Malagari, D-Montgomery, presented North Penn School District a ceremonial check for $305,659 to be used for security enhancements on school property.

"Ensuring that students, teachers, and staff feel secure in our schools is not just a privilege but a fundamental necessity for effective teaching and learning,” Malagari said. “With this funding, Pennsylvania is making significant strides toward creating safe, nurturing, and inclusive environments where education can thrive free from the distractions and anxieties posed by safety concerns."

Malagari said the funds will be used to purchase new cameras, security equipment, and mental health supports.

“The mission to promote physical security in a supportive and nurturing environment is forever evolving, and North Penn School District is incredibly grateful for the contribution to this effort,” said Dr. Todd Bauer, NPSD superintendent.

Funds will advance the School Safety and Security Committee’s goal of ensuring that all Pennsylvania students can learn in safe, healthy school environments by helping school entities address basic safety needs and mental health services identified in the committee’s recently adopted Revised Baseline Criteria Standards.
