Krueger announces grant to improve park in Nether Providence Township

FOLSOM, March 15 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, announced today the Pennsylvania Department of Community and Economic Development has awarded $148,600 to Nether Providence Township to make improvements to Hepford Park. “I am pleased to see this funding coming into the 161 st District,” Krueger said. “Our parks are a place for residents to gather, play, relax and enjoy our natural world. Making repairs and improvements to Hepford Park will benefit everyone.” The funding will be used to build a new playground and dugouts for baseball fields, redesign the parking lot, and for repairs and repainting fencing, concession stand improvements, shade trees and signage. “ The Nether Providence Board of Commissioners wants to thank Representative Krueger for her efforts leading to today’s grant announcement,” said Kaitlin McKenzie, president of the Board of Commissioners in Nether Providence. “ These monies will go towards playground expansion and general improvements at Hepford Park and are aligned with the board’s vision to make all of our township parks more accessible and enjoyable for our residents. ” Read more

Krueger to host Medicare virtual workshops in March and April

HARRISBURG, March 9 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, will host two virtual Pennsylvania Medicare Education and Decision Insight events in coordination with Delaware County MEDI counselors. The first event, Medicare 101, will be held from 9 a.m. to 10 a.m. Friday, March 18 . This virtual event is for those approaching the age of 65 or who plan to enroll in Medicare soon. This presentation covers the various parts of Medicare, the pros and cons of traditional Medicare versus Medicare Advantage Plans, when to sign up for the different parts of Medicare, basics of Supplemental Plans and extra financial help covering Medicare costs. The second will address how to do a drug or Medicare Advantage Plan comparison. It will be held from 6:30 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Monday, April 4. This presentation gives you a useful skill to use every fall during open enrollment when you should check to see whether your current drug or Advantage Plan is still the most cost-effective one for you in the coming year. “I am happy to continue hosting these monthly events with the help of Delaware County MEDI counselors,” said Krueger. Krueger to host unclaimed property search events

FOLSOM, March 4 – State Rep. Leanne Krueger, D-Delaware, will host two days of unclaimed property searches this month at her Folsom and Brookhaven offices to help residents of the 161 st District claim what is rightfully theirs. The Pennsylvania Treasurer's Office is holding more than $4 billion in unclaimed property owed to one in 10 Pennsylvanians. Examples of unclaimed property include uncashed checks, lost stocks or bonds, closed bank accounts and more. The unclaimed property search events will be held on Tuesday, March 15 and Thursday, March 17. No appointments are needed. Residents can call 610-534-6880 and a staff member will help complete the search over the phone. "I encourage anyone who thinks they might have unclaimed property to give my office a call,” Krueger said. “We have held this event several times in the past and my office has helped connect many community members with money that belongs to them. If you receive a phone call, letter, or email from someone suggesting they can help you retrieve unclaimed property from the state for a fee, ignore it.
