UPPER DUBLIN, Dec. 30 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, announced today that Upper Dublin Township received a $249,100 grant to go toward the development of Twining Valley Park. This award will help fund the construction of a dog park, pump track, pickleball courts, pedestrian walkways, a parking area, stormwater management measures, installation of play equipment, lighting and utilities, ADA access, landscaping and other related site improvements. “Redeveloping a former 105-acre golf course into what will be Twining Valley Park has been an exciting project underway in my district for some time. It’s uplifting to have these state dollars return to our region and see them benefit a project that countless people will enjoy for years to come,” Sanchez said. “The additions of a dog park, pickleball courts, pedestrian walkways and play equipment for children ensure that this park will have something for everyone and help strengthen our sense of community.” The awarded funds are part of the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources Grant Program. This grant was allocated from the Keystone Recreation, Park and Conservation Fund. More information on DCNR grant programs can be found on the department’s website . Read more

ABINGTON, Dec. 9 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, announced that Salem Baptist Church of Abington, located in Abington Township, received a $750,000 grant to help fund campus renovations for an accessible community event and banquet space. Renovations include accessibility upgrades, enhanced safety systems, upgraded mechanical and electrical infrastructure, and improved ventilation and airflow systems. This project will also create a full-service commercial kitchen with infrastructure to support handicap access to the space, and a 2,000 square foot community café on the church’s campus which will serve as a much-needed flexible and co-working space within the local area. “This funding will help Salem Baptist Church become an accessible community center for people of all abilities. It’s highly rewarding to see state dollars being used toward inclusivity efforts right here in Montgomery County,” Sanchez said. This grant comes from the Office of the Budget’s Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenue or other measures of economic activity. ABINGTON, Dec. 6 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, today announced that Holy Redeemer Hospital has been selected to receive a $2 million grant from the Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program. Funding will go toward the construction of a Linear Accelerator Vault. This vault will provide radiation shielding during cancer treatments. Construction includes site preparation, renovation and the internal fit-out for the LINAC vault. The project will also renovate 2,300 square feet of existing space and add an additional 1,760 square feet. “This grant will help modernize Holy Redeemer’s cancer treatment options and assist those battling this diagnosis,” Sanchez said. “LINAC vaults are complex, yet effective pieces of technology that can destroy cancer cells without harming surrounding tissue. I’m confident that this investment will have a tremendous impact on Pennsylvanians battling cancer and our area’s medical capabilities.” RACP is a grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational, and historical improvement projects. UPPER DUBLIN, Nov. 19 – State Rep. Ben Sanchez, D-Montgomery, today announced that Upper Dublin Township received $40,000 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program to benefit the Twining Valley Park development project. Funding will help cover expenses associated with phase two of the project, which includes the construction of a bike park. The bike park will include a bike playground and asphalt pump track. “Phase one of the Twining Valley Park development project constructed five miles of trails, so providing the option to bike is a logical next step that I think many community members will enjoy,” Sanchez said. “Secluded and protected bike trails offer a pleasant escape from bike lanes in urban areas, and this will be a welcomed addition to our community.” This redevelopment project consists of repurposing a former 105-acre golf course into a community park. The total project cost is $652,610. For more information, contact Sanchez’s office at 215-517-6800. Read more
