WILKES-BARRE, Feb. 14 – State Rep. Eddie Day Pashinski, D-Luzerne, will host a House Democratic Policy Committee public hearing on his legislation ( H.B. 2287 ) to provide a pathway for community college students at any of Pennsylvania’s 14 state community colleges to complete their degree or certificate program and land a steady job before having to begin repaying their tuition interest-free for up to 10 years – the Delayed Payment Plan. The hearing will be held at 9 a.m., Thursday, Feb. 20 at Luzerne County Community College, Campus Center-Building 14, 3rd Floor, Multi-Purpose Room, 1333 S. Prospect St., Nanticoke, PA 18634. Pashinski requested the hearing to discuss the issues of community college affordability, student debt, and addressing the skills gap in Pennsylvania. He will be joined by fellow legislators from across the state.
