Kulik announces more than $346,000 in federal funding for local law enforcement
Grants will support technology and equipment upgrades to improve safety

CORAOPOLIS, Dec. 14 – Four local law enforcement agencies were approved to receive a total of $346,588 in federal funding to improve safety, announced state Rep. Anita Kulik, D-Allegheny.
The Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency awarded funding to the following:
- $178,786 to Carnegie Borough for Central Square RMS licenses, rugged tablets, body-worn cameras, patrol car dash cameras, surveillance cameras and license plate readers.
- $81,952 to Kennedy Township for in-car cameras, license plate readers and a server upgrade.
- $50,000 to McKees Rocks for a license plate reader system and community surveillance cameras.
- $35,850 to Bridgeville Borough for in-car camera equipment.
“Cameras, license plate readers and other equipment are valuable resources for officers who work hard every day to keep our neighborhoods safe,” Kulik said. “I’m pleased to see investments in technology and equipment that will support our local police departments in their efforts to protect and serve our communities.”
Act 54 of 2022 established the Local Law Enforcement Support Grant Program and directed PCCD to administer $135 million in federal American Rescue Plan funding as grants to law enforcement agencies to implement information technology improvements, purchase or upgrade equipment, cover nontraditional law enforcement personnel costs, support retention and recruitment efforts, and provide necessary training and cover related expenses.
