TRACKING PENNSYLVANIA’S BEARS

As the majority chair of the PA House Game & Fisheries Committee, I joined several of my colleagues from the House, particularly from the Game & Fisheries Committee, along with Game Wardens, for a firsthand look at Pennsylvania’s conservation efforts related to our bear population. During this outing, bears were tagged, and health information was collected to monitor their migration patterns, diseases and other important factors. It was a very informative experience!

MENTORED YOUTH TROUT DAY

Save the date! March 29 is Mentored Youth Trout Day, when young anglers can fish in stocked trout waters before the opening day of Trout Season. It’s an opportunity to teach them the basics and reel in the fun of fishing.

To participate, youth anglers must have either a Mentored Youth Permit or a Voluntary Youth Fishing License from the Commission. They also must be accompanied by a licensed adult angler.

Remember to always wear your life jacket when out on the water. It's the law through April 30.
