EXPLORE CAMPING AND OUTDOOR RECREATION AT PA’S STATE PARKS AND FORESTS

With some federal campgrounds closing due to staffing shortages, the PA Department of Conservation and Natural Resources encourages visitors to explore Pennsylvania’s state parks and forests for camping and outdoor recreation, which are open and ready for visitors.

Pennsylvania offers 124 state parks and 2.2 million acres of forests with over 7,100 campsites, hiking trails, and various outdoor activities, ALL WITH NO ENTRY FEES.

Pennsylvania has made significant investments in state lands, including a $112 million boost for parks and forest infrastructure improvements. This funding has supported campground upgrades and facility reopenings to enhance visitor experiences.

Camping reservations can be made online at visitPAparks.com or by calling 888-PA-PARKS. More information on outdoor activities is available at dcnr.pa.gov.

NEW ONLINE PETITION CENTER FOR PA TAXPAYERS TO FILE APPEALS

The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has introduced a new Online Petition Center to help taxpayers file appeals and request refunds. This platform features a more user-friendly interface, a petition tracker, and enhanced security to streamline the tax-filing process. It also allows taxpayers to pause and save their petitions, with the option to return and complete them within 30 days.

The new system aims to improve accessibility and efficiency for Pennsylvania taxpayers by simplifying the petition process and reducing errors. It was developed by the Office of Administration in collaboration with the PA Department of Revenue as part of an ongoing effort to modernize state services and improve customer experience.
