Hill-Evans: $4.5 million awarded for economic development in York

YORK, Nov. 1 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans today announced the state is providing $4,500,000 in funding for redevelopment projects in York. The projects will be awarded grants through the state’s Redevelopment Capital Assistance Program.

Hill-Evans has been instrumental in securing these grants by encouraging local organizations to submit grant applications and providing guidance. She provides letters of support and follows up with decision-makers at the state level to approve the projects.

"All three of these projects will contribute to the well-being of York residents, either directly through services that help people achieve self-sufficiency, or by boosting companies and recreational attractions that supply good jobs and contribute to our local economy," said Hill-Evans. "I'm honored to help direct state support to projects that help keep our wonderful 95th District thriving."

Three grants were awarded in the 95th Legislative District:

  • $500,000 for Community Progress Council to acquire and renovate the building that will serve as its new headquarters, centralizing the organization’s services and making them more accessible to the community.
    • This project also recently received a $500,000 grant under the state’s Local Share Account program.

  • $2,500,000 for Precision Custom Components to prepare the site for and construct a new building. The company is a leading custom manufacturer for the defense and nuclear sectors and provides family-sustaining jobs to many York residents.
