Hill-Evans: $2.2 million awarded for community improvements

YORK, Oct. 29 – New funding of $2,249,978 from the Commonwealth Financing Authority will support multiple community infrastructure and revitalization projects across the 95th Legislative District, state Rep. Carol Hill-Evans announced today.

"This money is going to restore historic, treasured buildings in downtown York so they can once again be put to good use by the community," Hill-Evans said. "It's also going to make sure the parks and rec department and local police get resources they need, and that students are learning in safe facilities. I'm honored to help secure this state funding for the people I proudly represent in Harrisburg."

The grants were awarded by the CFA via one of two programs: the Statewide Local Share Account, which distributes gaming revenue to support regional projects in the public interest; or the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program, which provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for facility improvement projects and is administered by the state Department of Community and Economic Development.
