YORK, MARCH 4 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, today announced that a $17,501 grant has been approved for the York County History Center. “York’s history is rich and full of memorable moments, including becoming our nation’s first capital,” Hill-Evans said. “It’s important to maintain and preserve these historical organizations in order to show generations to come their past and where they came from. We cannot allow our past to disappear and repeat the same mistakes. We need to continue to learn, grow, and develop as a society and culture. Sites like this continue to make sure that happens.” Cultural and Historical Support Grants are to provide general operating support to Pennsylvania museums and official county historical societies that are not directly supported by other state agency operating support programs. An eligible museum must have an annual operating budget exceeding $100,000 and at least one full-time professional staff person. The Pennsylvania Historical and Museum Commission received 153 applications. All applicants were eligible. Fifty-six official county historical societies applied for support grants and 12 qualified in the museum category. The number of counties to receive funding increased from 57 to 58 of the 67 counties. HARRISBURG, Feb. 27 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, today announced three School Safety and Security grants totaling $553,479 for York City School District, West York Area School District, and York Suburban School District. The School Safety and Security Committee established within the Pennsylvania Commission on Crime and Delinquency approved $60 million in safety grants in the commonwealth. “With such a big investment in our local schools and our children’s safety, parents can rest easier at night and worry less during the day,” Hill-Evans said. “When it comes to our kids, they need us to step up and make sure that they are protected. We cannot allow them to live in fear daily. These measures and security plans will be crucial to ensuring they can learn in a nurturing environment without fear, while giving our educators the tools they need to bring positive support and encouragement.” York City School District will receive $473,479 for school-wide positive behavior support that includes several support systems and interventions in school entities, and classroom management. YORK, Feb. 10 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, today announced that her office will be partnering with local senior and disability housing and senior centers again this this year to help people complete Property Tax/Rent Rebate applications. “After partnering with our centers and housing complexes last year, we knew we had to work together again to put money back in your pockets,” Hill-Evans said. “Anyone interested in finding out more information should reach out to their housing offices to learn more about when we will be stopping by their office or senior center for appointments. The earlier we complete the rebate, the earlier your money returns to you.” Hill-Evans’ office helps complete around 1,100 rebate applications a year to help return a $500,000 to residents in the 95 th Legislative District.
