Local immunization clinics planned for summer

HARRISBURG, July 2 – State Rep. Frank Burns wants to alert area residents that there are a number of free and low-cost immunization clinics being offered this summer.

Offered by the Department of Health, Burns said they're a good opportunity to get you, your child or another family member immunized if you have no health insurance or your insurance does not cover the vaccine. The maximum cost is $5.

Clinics will be held throughout the summer in Johnstown, Ebensburg and Hastings. The times, dates and locations are as follows:

  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., July 7 – Free Medical Clinic, 340 Main St., Johnstown
  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., July 14 – Young Peoples Community Center, 300 Prave St., Ebensburg
  • 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., July 28 – Miners Medical Center, 290 Haida Ave., Hastings
  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 4 – Free Medical Clinic, 340 Main St., Johnstown
  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 11 – Young Peoples Community Center, 300 Prave St., Ebensburg
  • 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Aug. 25 – Miners Medical Center, 290 Haida Ave., Hastings
  • 1 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 8 – Young Peoples Community Center, 300 Prave St., Ebensburg
  • 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m., Sept. 29 – Miners Medical Center, 290 Haida Ave., Hastings

Vaccines will be distributed to adults and children who are uninsured (no health insurance) and underinsured (insurance does not cover the vaccine) and meet the eligibility guidelines.
