Grant to pay for training for worker safety

EBENSBURG, Jan. 22 – Today, state Rep. Frank Burns announced that a multi-county organization has been awarded a $1.2 million state grant to help train direct-care workers.
“As the pandemic has shown, direct-care workers are an essential part of our workforce, and they often work under difficult conditions,” Burns said. “These grants will not only help them with their personal safety but will also improve the quality of care for our loved ones.”
Grants awarded today included:
$1.2 million to Center for Independent Living of Central PA for training including CPR and first aid, universal precautions and infection control, fall preventions, and more. The program will service 1,200 trainees throughout central Pennsylvania, including in Cambria County.
