Burns to host annual Veterans Appreciation Meal

Free Aug. 22 lunch thanks veterans and offers help with services

JOHNSTOWN, Aug. 10 — As part of his ongoing efforts to thank local veterans and offer assistance with veterans’ programs, state Rep. Frank Burns, D-Cambria, is once again hosting a free Veterans Appreciation Meal on Saturday, Aug. 22.

The spaghetti lunch will be 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. at East Taylor Fire Hall, 403 Donruth Lane.

Veterans should RSVP by Aug. 17 by calling either of Burns’ district offices at 814-536-8400 or 814-472-8021.

“It’s very important to me that our veterans get all the thanks they deserve and all the help they need,” Burns said. “It’s why I’m proud to host this event every year. We always get good turnout, and I’m really looking forward to spending time with our local veterans again.”

In addition to lunch, veterans can connect with Burns and his staff to learn more about state programs and services available to veterans.

Proof of service is required. The lunch is free to veterans, and guests can join for a $5 donation.
