McKEESPORT, Oct. 24 – State Rep. Matthew R. Gergely, D-Allegheny, announced that a total of $3,719,752 in state grants was awarded to several local institutions.
Gergely and state Sen. Jim Brewster, D-Allegheny, helped facilitate the Public School Facility Improvement Grant Program’s allocation sum of $750,000 to three projects:
In addition, $2,969,752 in Local Share Account funds was awarded to the following 14 projects:
“Investing in the citizens and communities of the 35th Legislative District is an honor and privilege, and these dollars will go a long way to ensuring their safety and livelihood,” Gergely said. “Sen. Jim Brewster is a great partner to collaborate with on these funds, and his continuous advocacy on behalf of local institutions is second to none.”
PSFIG provides grants to public school districts and area career and technical schools for eligible facility improvement projects. The LSA supports projects in the public interest within Pennsylvania and is made possible by gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority.
