Webster announces additional $1 million award earmarked for new clubhouse at Jeffersonville Golf Club

WEST NORRITON TOWNSHIP, April 25 – State Rep. Joe Webster, D-Montgomery, today announced the awarding of an additional $1 million in Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program funding to the Jeffersonville Golf Club for construction of a new clubhouse. This latest $1 million award brings the total amount of grants awarded for renovations at the Jeffersonville Golf Club to $2 million.

The Redevelopment Assistance Capital Program is a grant program administered by the Office of the Budget for the acquisition and construction of regional economic, cultural, civic, recreational and historical improvement projects.

“The Jeffersonville Golf Club has been a focal point of our region for half a century,” Webster said. “In order to keep building more memories at this wonderful facility and propel it into the next half century, there were necessary renovations that needed to take place. This $2 million in grant funding aims to accomplish this initiative by making this historic golf club a modern establishment that will remain a premier destination in our area for generations to come.”

The project is geared toward the construction of a new clubhouse building, which will include a restaurant and a banquet facility to be utilized by the community’s residents. In addition, a pro shop, golf simulators, and storage space for equipment will also be included in the construction.

“Community-driven investments such as this one ensure the economic health of our region by retaining and expanding family sustaining employment right here in Montgomery County,” Webster added.

RACP projects are authorized in the Redevelopment Assistance section of a Capital Budget Itemization Act, have a regional or multi-jurisdictional impact, and generate substantial increases or maintain current levels of employment, tax revenue or other measures of economic activity.
