HELP SAVE LIVES, DEFEAT COVID-19 AND OPEN OUR ECONOMY RESPONSIBLY

Like you, we want our economy open as quickly and as safely as possible.

Extremists in Harrisburg backed by corporate special interests don’t want to wait until the doctors say it’s safe. They pushed through a plan to throw away the stay-at-home guidance that’s already helped to flatten the curve, save lives and protect our essential workers.

They refused every attempt to provide workers with Personal Protective Equipment, Job Security, Paid Sick Leave, and other key Worker Protection measures.

They won’t listen to the Centers for Disease Control, the National Institute of Health or anyone – including the people – saying it’s too soon to throw open the doors to every business. They won’t wait for more than one out of a hundred people to get tested.

Join us and tell Republican leaders they need to put people first, starting with our frontline workers. Take action!

Email Body:

As a Pennsylvanian who cares about my life and the lives of my family, and as someone who does not want to see our health care and essential workers put at any more risk, I am urging you to listen to the doctors and scientists when it comes to a plan to safely reopen our economy. Even Wall Street leaders are warning it’s too soon to open businesses back up fully, and more than seven out of ten Americans say it would be a mistake to stop social distancing too early.

The stay-at-home orders are helping to flatten the curve and reduce the number of new COVID-19 cases and virus-related deaths, but there are still far too many new cases and far too few people who have been tested out there.

Opening up too soon and too quickly will undo this work, allow the virus to spread faster, extend this crisis and ultimately hurt our economy while killing people who don’t have to die.

I urge you to reconsider your decision and work on a real plan that puts expert medical advice ahead of special interests.

Sincerely,

Sincerely,
