McNeill announces $85K in funding for recreational projects

HARRISBURG, Nov. 19 -- State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh, today announced a total of $85,000 in total funding for two recreational projects in Coplay Borough and Whitehall Township.

“Today’s announcement is wonderful news for the communities of Coplay and Whitehall,” McNeill said. “The investments will benefit families of all ages and provide important and continued recreational opportunities.”

According to McNeill, officials in Whitehall plan to utilize its $42,500 funding to make improvements to the main Ironton Rail trailhead parking lot. The remaining $42,500 will be used in Coplay to remove and update existing playground equipment at Saylor Park and the Tot Lot.

The funding for the projects comes from the Pennsylvania Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Greenways, Trails and Recreation Program. More information about the CFA and the funding programs can be found here.
