McNeill applauds over $1.9 million in community projects funding

HARRISBURG, Sept. 15 – State Rep. Jeanne McNeill today announced that her community received over $1.9 million in funding in Local Share Account grants to be used toward multiple projects.

“I’m pleased to see this funding awarded to projects that will make a real difference in communities throughout the district,” said McNeill. “From new fire and police vehicles to equipment that will help maintain our roads and infrastructure, these investments will give our local governments and first responders the resources they need to better serve their residents. I’m proud to have supported these projects and look forward to seeing the benefits they will bring to our communities.”

The projects being funded include:

  • $1 million to purchase a fire truck for use in Whitehall Township and surrounding communities.
  • $350,000 to purchase a milling machine for use in Whitehall Township to improve the street maintenance services the Whitehall Township Public Works Department provides.
  • $275,000 for the purchase of a new Vac Truck for use in Catasauqua Borough.
  • $116,194 on behalf of Coplay Volunteer Fire Department for the purchase of a fire utility vehicle in Coplay Borough.
  • $100,000 for corridor-wide improvements along West Broad Street in Bethlehem City.
  • $79,600 for the purchase and upfitting of a new police vehicle for use in Fountain Hill Borough.
  • $50,000 for a salt shed replacement project in Catasauqua Borough.

LSA funds are provided by the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects that improve the quality of life of citizens in the community.
