McNeill announces $380,000 in funding for intersection upgrade

Improvements designed to better serve disabled and meet ADA compliance

HARRISBURG, Nov. 19 -- State Rep. Jeanne McNeill, D-Lehigh, today announced a total of $380,000 in funding has been awarded to Hanover Township for upgrades to the intersection of Catasauqua Road and Valley Plaza Center.

“Today’s announcement is great news for so many of the people who utilize public transportation in that area,” McNeill said. “This investment will also provide vital upgrades that include the installation of sidewalks and handicap-accessible ramps to better serve those with disabilities.”

According to McNeill, in addition to the installation of sidewalks that are ADA-compliant, new traffic signals, signage and pedestrian signals will also be constructed to meet ADA compliance in this dense commercial area.
