In her ongoing effort to help her neighbors have a happy and safe Thanksgiving, state Rep. Joanna McClinton teamed up with community leaders to distribute hundreds of free turkeys safely to families in need in Philadelphia and Delaware County.
McClinton partnered with King Saladeen to give away approximately 500 turkeys at Myers Recreation Center on Saturday.
Just a day earlier, her office worked with Fresh Direct to distribute more than 100 turkeys to individuals at the Darby Recreation Center.
"COVID-19 may have changed how we deliver resources but it's not stopping us from delivering resources," said McClinton, D-Phila./Delaware. "Families need our help more than ever. I commend our community partners for joining us in taking the precautions necessary to ensure people can feed their loved ones this Thanksgiving."
McClinton added mask wearing, social distancing and other CDC guidelines were enforced during both events.
