2025 Fair City Challenge

Economy League of Greater Philadelphia has announced the 2025 Fair City Challenge, which is a competition  to identify and support community-based social entrepreneurs with great ideas for revaluing property in historically disinvested Philadelphia neighborhoods - while preventing displacement. All Challenge finalists will win $10,000 and entry into an accelerator to develop a business plan to advance their idea. The Grand Prize winner will earn a $50,000 investment.

The challenge considers projects focused on one of the following categories: The Home & the Homeowner, The Neighborhood, and The City.

The Property Tax Rent Rebate program is open!

The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older; widows and widowers 50 or older; and people with disabilities 18 or older.

This year, eligible applicants will receive a one-time bonus Property Tax/Rent Rebate payment, which is 70% of the original rebate amount for every claimant who’s been approved for a rebate on rent or property taxes paid in 2024.

Applications can be filed online at mypath.pa.gov.

The James R. Roebuck PLBC Scholarship is now accepting applications.

Successful applicants will receive a $1,500 scholarship made possible by the Pennsylvania Legislative Black Caucus Foundation for educational purposes. Students are encouraged to use the scholarship award for tuition, fees, books, or school-related supplies and equipment.

Applicants must be a resident of Pennsylvania, person of color and graduating high school senior or current undergraduate college student.
