Giving Back with the Philly Specials!

It was an honor to join the Philly Specials (Lane Johnson, Jason Kelce and Jordan Mailata) and Governor Shapiro at the Eliza Kirkbride School to distribute gifts and spread holiday cheer! In partnership with the Fund for Philadelphia Schools, the Philly Specials gave every public-school student in Philadelphia a gift! I am so grateful to the Philly Specials, our Philadelphia Eagles and community partners for bringing joy to our youngest neighbors!

Restore Holiday Meal Distribution

Yeadon neighbors, join Restore Dispensaries for the 4^th annual Holiday Meal Distribution on Saturday, Dec. 21 at 10 a.m. at 735 Church Lane, Yeadon! Turkeys and canned food will be distributed first come first serve. For more information visit restoredispensaries.com.

Dog and Cat Wellness and Vaccine Clinic

The University of Pennsylvania School of Veterinary Medicine will celebrate Martin Luther King Day on Monday, Jan. 20 with a free dog and cat wellness and vaccination clinic for pet owners who may not have easy access to veterinary services. Owners will also have the option to receive a free flu vaccine from medical school volunteers during their pets' appointments.

Calls for appointments will be accepted beginning Monday, Jan 6. To schedule an appointment, please call 215-898-4680 between 8- l0 a.m. Pet owners will be limited to 2 pets per household and will also be asked about their interest in receiving a flu vaccine at the time of the call.

Artists, applications are now being accepted for West Philadelphia grants opportunities

The Paul Robeson House & Museum, West Philadelphia Arts Council, and The Sachs Program for Arts Innovation are thrilled to announce the second round of West Philadelphia Creative Grants and the inaugural Artist Residency opportunity at the Paul Robeson House & Museum. Apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate!

The Property Tax Rent Rebate program application deadline is Dec. 31!

The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older; widows and widowers 50 or older; and people with disabilities 18 or older.

This year, eligible applicants will receive a one-time bonus Property Tax/Rent Rebate payment, which is 70% of the original rebate amount for every claimant who’s been approved for a rebate on rent or property taxes paid in 2023.

Applications can be filed online at mypath.pa.gov.

LIHEAP & Pennie are open!

The Low-Income Home Energy Assistance Program (LIHEAP) helps families pay their heating bills or cover the cost of emergency repairs. If you need assistance applying or have any questions, please visit or contact my office!
