I visited Motivation High School to encourage my youngest neighbors who will turn 18 by election day to register to vote! Regardless of the upcoming election is your first- or fifth-time voting, make sure your voice is heard on November 5! Visit vote.pa.gov for more information on registering or to make sure your registration is active and have a plan to vote.

Expungement and Pardon Clinic

The City of Philadelphia, the Neighborhood Advisory Subcommittee and Philadelphia Lawyers for Social Equity are hosting a free expungement and pardon clinic this Saturday, Sept. 28 from 12 p.m. to 2 p.m. at Chosen300, 399 Lancaster Ave.

Philly Senior Tax Freeze

The City of Philadelphia will “freeze” your Real Estate Tax if you meet certain age and income requirements. To find the form and information visit phila.gov/senior-freeze.

Philly Low Income Tax Freeze

The Low-Income Tax Freeze application is now available at phila.gov/tax-freeze.

The Department of Revenue launched the Low-Income Tax Freeze program last week. Homeowners can find the application on the Philadelphia Tax Center in both English and Spanish. Applicants do not need a username and password to complete the application. Although the Tax Center is mobile-enabled, bi-lingual paper forms are also available.

Homestead Exemption

Philadelphia neighbors, if you own your primary residence, you are eligible for the Homestead Exemption on your Real Estate Tax. The Homestead Exemption reduces the taxable portion of your property’s assessed value. The deadline to apply is December 1. For more information on eligibility and applying visit phila.gov.

Apply for the Property Tax/Rent Rebate!

The Property Tax Rent Rebate program application deadline has been extended to December 31!

The rebate program benefits eligible Pennsylvanians 65 or older; widows and widowers 50 or older; and people with disabilities 18 or older.

This year, eligible applicants will receive a one-time bonus Property Tax/Rent Rebate payment, which is 70% of the original rebate amount for every claimant who’s been approved for a rebate on rent or property taxes paid in 2023.

Applications can be filed online at mypath.pa.gov.
