Free Meals for Kids 18 and under!
The end of the school year can mean an end to free breakfast and lunch programs, but the U.S. Department of Agriculture's Summer Food Service Program helps ensure that students still have access to nutritious meals, even when school is out. Text FOOD or COMIDA to 914-342-7744 or 304-304 for Philadelphia residents and visit www.fns.usda.gov/meals4kids, www.fns.usda.gov/summer/sunmeals or www.phila.gov/food.
Sunbucks
This year, Pennsylvania is introducing, SUNbucks, a new grocery benefits program that provides households with a one-time payment of $120 for each eligible child to buy food while school is out. Children who applied and were approved for free/reduced-price school meals or who receive Supplemental Nutrition Assistance (SNAP), and Temporary Assistance for Needy Families (TANF) benefits are automatically eligible for SUN Bucks. Those who are not a part of these programs can still apply. For more information visit pa.gov.

This week in Harrisburg
My House colleagues and I are working hard to complete the 2024-25 budget! We are also passing important bills that will help our neighbors and improve our communities. We’re protecting the health and safety of kids by eliminating lunch debt and requiring school nurses and personnel to complete training on how to recognize and manage students experiencing seizures. We’re cutting costs for seniors and veterans, protecting consumers, helping local business and defending democracy by prohibiting foreign actors from interfering in elections.
