THIS WEEK IN HARRISBURG
It was a packed session week! HB 1410, my bill to make receiving a pardon easier was approved by the House Judiciary committee! The Consul General of the German Consulate General New York, David Gill visited the house to celebrate the friendship between the Commonwealth and Germany. I joined the Girl Scouts of Pennsylvania and became a member of Troop PA! 14 students from Lincoln University, known as the Freedom 14 walked 66 miles from their campus to the Capitol to urge the Senate to fairly fund our state related institutions.
This week we passed bills providing cost of living adjustments to pensions of educators and state workers, streamlining the reporting of underage drinking, protecting tenants and allowing electronic submission of municipal plans!
We also passed legislation to attract more municipal police candidates!
Thank you to all the students who came to the Capitol to learn and advocate this week! You are our future and with people like you, it’s in excellent hands!
