Rep. Harris's Biography

Keith Harris was elected to represent the 195th Legislative District in 2024. Prior to his election, Harris served on the board of Strawberry Mansion Health Center from 1993 to 1999. In 2008, he became an honorary board member of the Strawberry Mansion Learning Center, which supports youth and education. From 2014 through 2023, Harris’ involvement with the Cecil B. Moore Recreation Center helped to drive community projects and address food insecurity. He is a lifelong fair housing and anti-violence advocate.

Harris earned his certificate in Liberal Arts education through the Act Now program at Philadelphia Community College from 1980 to 1982. From 1984 through 1990, under the leadership of the late Tim Spencer, Harris played a pivotal role in Philadelphia’s graffiti removal program, which laid the groundwork for the city’s successful Mural Arts Project.

As a state representative, Harris’ priorities include mental health advocacy and promoting the human rights of persons with mental health disorders, education, securing fair opportunities for all people who seek employment and ensuring that the resources necessary to keep communities safe are effectively distributed.
