Hill-Evans highlights September events beginning with First Friday in downtown York

HARRISBURG, Aug. 31 – State Rep. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, said she is thrilled to announce her September events which will kick off this upcoming Friday, Sept. 3, during First Friday in the Beaver Street Merchant District.  

“As we wind down the summer of 2021, I invite all residents of the 95th Legislative District to begin their Labor Day weekend at First Friday in beautiful downtown York,” Hill-Evans said. “I am proud to be hosting two simultaneous events focused on strengthening, bolstering and educating our community as we move towards the fall. These events will provide yet another wonderful opportunity for our neighbors to mingle and express pride in their community.”  

From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m. Friday, Sept. 3, Hill-Evans will host two events during First Friday September in the Beaver Street Merchant District. The first event will be an Emergency Preparedness Month fair that will include state, county and local service providers and preparedness organizations. This event will be coupled with a panel on careers in the field of criminal justice for women. This event will include a panel of women from across criminal justice fields and will help provide career guidance, along with briefings on pending criminal justice reform legislation. The criminal justice panel will begin at 6 p.m. at the School District of the City of York administration building located at 31 N. Pershing Ave., York, PA 17401. 

From 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 25, Hill-Evans will host a free shredding event at the Spring Garden Township Municipal Building, 340 Tri Hill Road, York, PA 17403. Residents should bring documents they no longer need that contain personal information. 

During the shredding event, Hill-Evans will be collecting for a Diaper Drive occurring the entire month of September.
