Rep. Carol Hill-Evans October 20, 2026
HARRISBURG, Oct. 20 – The state House of Representatives voted today to pass a bipartisan resolution recognizing today, Oct. 20, 2026, as “Domestic Violence Awareness Day” in Pennsylvania, in honor of the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence.
House Resolution 645, introduced by state Reps. Carol Hill-Evans, D-York, and Mary Jo Daley, D-Montgomery, designates Oct. 20, 2026 as "Domestic Violence Awareness Day" in honor of the 50th anniversary of PCADV and their ongoing commitment to provide support for victims and survivors of domestic violence in this commonwealth.
Founded in 1976, PCADV is a statewide collaborative membership organization committed to ending intimate partner violence and all forms of violence and oppression.
Today, PCADV annually serves 90,000 victims and survivors across all 67 counties and has helped more than 3 million people since their founding.
“As legislators, we have a responsibility to recognize the contributions of organizations like the PCADV and honor their vital role in protecting victims and survivors within the commonwealth,” Hill-Evans said. “I am proud to stand with my colleagues on both sides of the aisle to do just that.”
Hill-Evans also urged anyone in need of help from domestic violence to contact the Pennsylvania Coalition Against Domestic Violence or a local domestic violence service provider for support.
