Davis, Santarsiero announce $100K grant awarded to Bristol Borough museum

BRISTOL, June 21 – State Rep. Tina Davis and Sen. Steve Santarsiero, both D-Bucks, today announced a $100,000 Keystone Historic Preservation Grant awarded to Bristol Borough’s Margaret R. Grundy Memorial Museum – an entity of The Grundy Foundation.

Funds come from the Pennsylvania Historical & Museum Commission and will be used toward an urgent roof restoration project. This project includes replacing cedar shingles, restoring metal porch roofs, and addressing drainage issues by replacing or re-routing gutters.

“The Grundy Museum is a cornerstone of Bristol Borough, dedicated to preserving and celebrating our rich history. Additionally, they’ve worked to encourage community and civic engagement for decades – a cause I’m always happy to support,” Davis said. “It was my honor to help bring this $100,000 grant home to ensure the Grundy Museum’s continued success.”

“The Grundy Museum is a shining example of the historical significance of our region and the importance of preserving that history and making it available to the public,” Santarsiero said.  “I’m pleased these funds will be used to repair and preserve the Victorian home of the Grundy family, allowing the Grundy Foundation to continue to tell the story of the family and Bristol Borough.”

The Grundy Museum was one of 44 projects statewide to be selected for a grant. More information on the program and a complete list of recipients are available by visiting: https://www.media.pa.gov/pages/phmc-details.aspx?newsid=460.
