Curry to hold several pop-up backpack events

Five events throughout the 164th District help kids get ready for school

UPPER DARBY, Aug. 11 – State Rep. Gina H. Curry, D-Delaware, announced she will hold several pop-up back-to-school backpack events.

Residents can join Curry and her staff during the week of August 14-18 at one of the following locations:

Monday, Aug. 14

4 p.m. - 6 p.m., Millbourne Bus Station

Tuesday, Aug. 15

4 p.m. - 6 p.m., Observatory Recreation Area

Wednesday, Aug. 16

4 p.m. - 6 p.m., Cardington Field

Thursday, Aug. 17

4 p.m. - 6 p.m., Penn Wood High School (Green Avenue)

Friday, Aug. 18

1 p.m. - 3 p.m., Llanerch Hills Chapel

“We are beyond excited to bring back this great giveaway,” Curry said. “I hope students and their families will come out to one of our events in the district so we can answer their questions, give them a new backpack with supplies, and get them ready for school!”

To participate, students must live in the 164th Legislative District. Parents and guardians must register their children ahead of time. Backpacks may be picked up at any location. Limit one free backpack per child.

Curry and her staff will be available at the backpack events to answer questions about any state-related issues. Information on state programs and services for children (CHIP, immunizations, etc.) will also be available.

During the week of August 14-18, Rep. Curry’s District Office will be closing at 2 p.m. from Monday, Aug. 14 to Thursday, Aug. 17. The office will be closing at noon on Friday, Aug. 18.
