Rep. Gina H. Curry's Biography
State Representative Gina H. Curry has dedicated her career to serving her community and advocating for social justice and equitable opportunities. Elected in a November 2021 special election to represent the 164th Legislative District in Delaware County, Gina brings a wealth of experience and a passion for positive change to her role in government.
With over 20 years of experience as an educator, Gina has worked tirelessly to support youth and families in her community. She is a loyal advocate for equitable funding for education, economic development, and affordable housing. Before her election to the state legislature, Gina served in various capacities, including as a Diversity Equity and Inclusion/Racial Equity consultant and trainer, and as the owner of Coach Your Vision LLC. Her commitment to community service is evident through her tenure as vice president of the Upper Darby School Board, where she was first elected in 2017 and re-elected in 2019. Gina's deep understanding of community needs, coupled with her advocacy for fairness and activism, positions her as a powerful voice for equity in Pennsylvania.
Gina holds bachelor’s and master’s degrees in Criminal Justice with a concentration on Sociology from St. Joseph’s University. Her expertise extends beyond education into the behavioral health field, where she has served as a clinical supervisor, behavioral specialist, and therapeutic consultant to children and families.
Passionate about mentoring and empowering youth and young professionals, Gina has been actively involved in leadership skills development, volunteerism, and civic engagement. Her advocacy for youth began early on through her involvement with the Home and School Association at the Kindergarten Center and Highland Park Elementary School. Additionally, Gina dedicated years to serving as a local Girl Scout Troop leader, fostering leadership development among elementary- and middle school-age girls.
An active member of the Chester Alumnae Chapter of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority Inc., Gina's commitment to community extends to her involvement with the EU PEAT: Prison Education Advisory Board. In October 2023, Gina co-founded the PA Black Maternal Health Caucus, addressing disparities in black maternal health outcomes. Her leadership in advocating for the MOMNIBUS legislation underscores her dedication to improving black maternal health outcomes and addressing racial disparities in maternal mortality rates statewide.

She resides in the Upper Darby area with her three children and beloved dog, Tyson.
