Rep. Gina H. Curry July 7, 2022 | 1:23 PM
PA state Reps. Joanna McClinton and Gina Curry, who both serve Delaware County, released the following joint statement in response to a 22-year-old man’s apparent suicide Tuesday afternoon while in the custody of the Yeadon Borough Police Department:
“Our prayers are with the family of the young man found dead while in police custody earlier this week.
“What our community needs and deserves right now is transparency and accountability into how such an incident could have occurred.
“We are committed to working collaboratively with law enforcement, the district attorney’s office, the mayor, borough council, and other local leaders to find these answers, bring them to our neighbors, and pinpoint effective solutions to prevent a tragedy like this from ever happening again.”
An investigation is currently underway.
