Hello Neighbors, Community Members and Friends,
|
|
The beginning of 2026 has been tumultuous, and I want to pause and recognize how heavily national events have weighed on our community.
Delaware County is home to a diverse and vibrant community of immigrants – many residing right here in Upper Darby, Lansdowne, East Lansdowne, and Milbourne. They are our coworkers, our caregivers, our students, and our friends. When our immigrant neighbors thrive, we all thrive. Our neighborhoods grow more culturally rich and dynamic.
I want to be clear that I am here to support our immigrant communities in every way that I can. I am disgusted by the complete lack of due process, transparency, and decency we’ve been witnessing at home and across our country. No one in America deserves to live with the fear of their family being torn apart, regardless of where you’ve come from or how you came to be here. In my eyes, once you’re here, you’re part of our community.
This legislative session, my colleagues and I are bringing forward bills to strengthen our diverse communities, stay true to our values, and work to ensure every person of every background has the support they need. We welcome you here, and we sincerely wish you a life of dignity and hope.
My team is always here to serve you. Please stop by our Barclay Square office, give us a call, or email us whenever you need help with a state-related issue. You can reach us at (610) 259-7016 or RepCurry@pahouse.net.
In service,
Gina H. Curry

Maternal Health Awareness Day in PA
|
On February 6th we were able to celebrate Maternal Health Awareness Month in the House chamber. I was honored to be able to make remarks on my legislation, H.R. 379, regarding the importance of maternal health awareness and the statistical data and stark realities of the birthing journey. I was also very excited to be presented with a proclamation from the governor's office acknowledging the legislation around Maternal Health Awareness Day.

My office will be closed this Monday, February 16, in observance of Presidents Day, and will remain closed until 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday, February 17 to accommodate a staff training. We thank you for your flexibility! We will reopen at 1:00 p.m. on Tuesday.

$600,000 to the Women’s Opportunity Resource Center
|
Yesterday I had the honor of presenting a nearly $600,000 check to the Women’s Opportunity Resource Center, an organization that offers entrepreneurship training, business lending, and matched savings programs.
The presentation was held at Pound Cake Heaven at 712 Church Lane in Yeadon – the owners of which are clients of the WORC and an incredible success story.
The Southeast Delegation helped secure this Historically Disadvantaged Business Assistance grant for the WORC and look forward to seeing it put to use to help economically disadvantaged women entrepreneurs succeed.
Through entrepreneurship training, business lending, and matched savings programs, it equips people with the tools, resources, and support to turn goals into thriving businesses, strong households, and resilient communities.

Upper Darby Senior Center Black History Month Panel
|
On Wednesday I had the pleasure of joining Mayor Ed Brown and UD Police Lieutenant Laina Stevens as panelists for the Upper Darby Senior Center’s first ever Black History Month Panel. It was an inspiring event and I look forward to seeing it offered in years to come.

New tax credit for working people
|
As you prepare to file your personal taxes this year, remember that, thanks to state budget priorities that my colleagues and I fought for last year, there is a new state-level tax credit available to working Pennsylvanians.
