After spending the majority of the last three weeks in Harrisburg, it was good to get back home to the 164th legislative District! We had plenty of great events to coincide with the first taste of warm weather this spring season! 

On Tuesday, I joined state Sen. Tim Kearney and state Rep. Lisa Borowski for a tour of the Cobbs Creek Golf Course with the Cobbs Creek Foundation and the Tiger Woods Foundation Learning Lab.

Enon Baptist Church Visit

Saturday I was able to visit Enon Baptist Church in Philadelphia to share my legislative priorities around HB 434 – an Ebony Alert System – with an amazing Call to Action in finding strong solutions for funding missing and exploited children. I was joined by fellow state Rep. Carol Kazeem.

Youth Activity and Resource Fair

On Thursday, Team Curry hosted our Youth Activity and Resource Fair! With sunny skies and warmer weather on the way, we helped so many students find activities, organizations, teams, and more to enjoy throughout the spring and summer! Thanks to all the volunteers who made this possible! 

Property Tax/Rent Rebate Senior Clinic

Team Curry also stopped by Alician Senior Apartments to help residents with their Property Tax/Rent Rebate program applications! 

Healthy Hoops

Yesterday I also read to the Healthy Hoops program at the Lansdowne YMCA in partnership with Keystone Health. I read these beautiful, excited 5-year-olds a book titled The Good Egg.

IFE Housing Shelter Tour

This tour of the IFE housing shelter in the Self Inc system in Philadelphia, along with my fellow state Reps. Darisha Parker and Malcolm Kenyatta, was excellent. Dr Dash gave us an amazing look inside of the daily work her team puts in!

Student Teacher Stipends/ GROW PA Scholarships

The 2025-26 Student Teacher Support (student teacher stipend) program is still taking applications! This program provides a $10,000 stipend to student teachers. The Governor’s 2025-26 budget proposal calls for $40 million for the Student Teacher Support program. This program began in the 2024-25 school year with $30 million available. More information, eligibility requirements, and application information can be found on the PHEAA website.

The Grow PA Scholarship program is open! This program offers scholarships to Pennsylvania students studying an in-demand occupation at an institution of higher education located in Pennsylvania. Grow PA Scholarship recipients must agree to live and work in Pennsylvania after graduation for the number of years they received the scholarship. More information on this program can be found on the PHEAA website.

Residents of the 163rd and 164th Legislative Districts! Rep. Boyd and I are teaming up for a Shred Event TOMORROW at Upper Darby High School from 9 a.m. to noon. Along with paper, we can also shred hard drives, laptops, and cell phones! Pre-register by calling 610-259-7016

The REAL ID deadline is approaching! In order to enter federal buildings, military facilities or board a plane, you're going to need one! I am joining my fellow legislators for a virtual REAL ID town hall on April 22 from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. Register through the link here.
