PHILADELPHIA, Oct. 22 – Today, state Rep. Andre D. Carroll, D-Phila., announced that two projects in his legislative district have been awarded a combined total of $320,795 in state funding from the Pennsylvania Local Share Account.
The projects awarded funding include:
$103,795 to PIDC Financing Corp. on behalf of the Belfield Community Development Corp. for a new HVAC and cooling system.
$217,000 awarded to PIDC Financing Corp. on behalf of the Awbury Arboretum to replace the roof of the Cope House, which serves as the operational heart for the association.
“I’m excited to see these two organizations that provide so much to our community in Northwest Philadelphia being awarded this significant state funding,” Carroll said. “These funds will provide great improvements for their facilities and allow them to continue doing their great work. I look forward to seeing the finished products.”
The Statewide Local Share Account funding comes from the PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act, which provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects in the public interest within Pennsylvania.
