Delivering for You in Harrisburg

Now that Democrats have control of the House and Senate, I am so excited to get back to work with Governor Shapiro to deliver on the priorities that PA residents tell us are most important to them:

Affordability
Protecting/Growing jobs
Healthcare access
School funding
Supporting working families

Stay Up-To-Date!

1. Germantown Info Hub runs the G-Town Text Line, where once a week we send out a text message with free events happening that week in the neighborhood, resources on local jobs, free food giveaways, opportunities to connect or serve in the community and more. It's free, run by real humans and not bots, you always text back with questions, and we never sell or share your information. You can sign up here: https://joinsubtext.com/c/gtowntextline

2. The Equal Info Text Line is a citywide text platform where twice a week we send messages about resources all across the city including jobs and job fairs, food giveaways, energy and utility help, housing resources, and more. Team Carroll in the Community

On October 29th, I made a visit to Northwest Mutual Aid Collectives new facility! Their mission is to combat food insecurity and food waste by providing home delivered fresh produce and pantry essentials to seniors, disabled residents, and low-income families in Northwest Philadelphia while also supporting local pantries, shelters, and community initiatives across the city to ensure no neighbor goes hungry. I'm super grateful to have an organization like this helping bridge the gaps in our community.

On October 26th, I went out to Yvonne B. Haskins Trolly Park renaming. She was such an inspiring community member and I'm glad that we can honor her in a way she would be happy to see. Thank you to everyone that came out to support and to her family for helping set up this gathering!

On October 29th, I attended Councilman Isaiah Thomas’ Save the School’s Rally In front of the Philadelphia School District Building! I was happy to stand with our students in efforts to save our schools and hear the voices of students, community members, and leaders on why this is wrong.

On October 24th, The Legacy Tennis Gala was a blast! I got to meet one of my favorite Tennis Players of all time Kim Clijster who received the leadership honoree award. Thank you, Marcie and Allan, for inviting me out for this special event, I'm so happy I could be there to support!

On October 23rd I attended Mothers Making Music -- an event that honored mothers in our city who made music history! Thank you, Suzanne Christines for putting on such a great event that honored legends in our city like Lady B, Mina Say What, Keri Park, Aja Dantzler, and Facetta Greene. I was pleased to give them citations that honor the work they've done and will continue to do.

Kada Scott Day is Officially November 18th in PA! Thank you to her family for coming out and honoring her with her very own day for her birthday!

On October 22nd, I attended the Impact that Inspires Gala! I was more than happy to be a part of this as they celebrated 5 years of helping the youth in our communities. They strive to support afterschool and summer programs that combine academic support, mentorship, leadership development, and exposure to college and career pathway. Thank you for inviting me out to celebrate your special night!
