Dear Neighbors,
We may be in the midst of summer, but it is never too early to prepare for next school year! That's why I will host a Back to School Kick-Off on Saturday, August 1st with Senator Art Haywood at Lonnie Young Rec Center at 1100 Chelten Ave., Philadelphia!
This free event will have free backpacks and school supplies, as well as free haircuts to ensure that our local students have what they need and feel their best for the new school year! We will also have kids' face painting, food and drinks, door prizes, and over 20 tables with community and state resources.
Always in service,
Rep. Andre D. Carroll

On July 25th, I presented a citation to Middleweight World Champion Jaron Boots Ennis! It was truly an honor to present this to someone who is an upstanding and down-to-earth member of this community. Thank you, Representative Giral, for allowing me to come to your district and honor someone who is from my neighborhood. Congratulations Champ!

On July 21st, I gave The DC Diamond Step team a tour of my office. It was great to show them around and give them some context around what state offices do. If you want to meet them, they will be performing Saturday, August 1st at Lonnie Young at our Back to School kick-off!

On July 20th , Team Carroll attended a U.S. Global Leadership Coalition Luncheon with Congressman Boyle. It was a very enlightening to hear about some of the things Philadelphia has planned on the global scale in the coming years and to reflect on some of the things we’ve already done this past year. Happy to know Philadelphia is in good hands with Congressman Boyle.

On July 29th, we had students from Germantown Friends School and Penn Charter School present their food insecurity research to us. This was an impactful conversation about ways we can continue to help bridge the gaps on this issue in our community. Together we brainstormed new ways we can impact our community. Thank you, Ms. Alyson, for allowing students to engage with us and guiding young people as they make real change in their communities.

On July 25th, I went to support Philly Wonder Woman (LaCinda Trotter) on Wonder Woman Day! I got the chance to honor her with a citation for all the incredible community work she does.
