"We’re happy to have secured over $1 million in grant funding for Schwenksville Borough," said Pennycuick. "This bipartisan effort underscores our dedication to improving the lives of Pennsylvanians. This investment will have a positive impact on the lives of local residents, and we look forward to continuing our work together to improve our communities."

“Schwenksville Borough does an incredible job taking on projects that will improve our neighbors’ quality of life. I’m thrilled that the library is receiving significant support and I’m always pleased to see that our community is getting state funds to improve traffic safety,” said Rep. Bradford. “I’m grateful that the Shapiro Administration is investing in these important projects in Schwenksville.”

Sen. Pennycuick and Rep. Bradford advocated and secured funding for the following projects:

  • $100,000 for Schwenksville Borough to make pedestrian safety improvements along Summit Avenue, Game Farm Road, and Highland Avenue. This funding came from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account Statewide program.
  • $999,754 for Schwenksville Borough to renovate and improve the Perkiomen Valley Library. This funding came from the Commonwealth Financing Authority’s Local Share Account Statewide program.
  • $90,000 for Schwenksville Borough to make traffic infrastructure improvements. This funding came from the Department of Community and Economic Development.

The PA Race Horse Development and Gaming Act (Act 2004-71), provides for the distribution of gaming revenues through the Commonwealth Financing Authority to support projects concerning the public interest, community improvements, and economic development.

The Department of Community and Economic Development’s mission is to encourage the shared prosperity of all Pennsylvanians by supporting good stewardship and sustainable development initiatives across our commonwealth. It acts as an advisor and advocate, providing strategic technical assistance, training, and financial resources to help our communities and industries flourish.
