The PA House will return to session on Monday following three weeks of Appropriations Committee hearings on the 2025-26 budget proposal. It was an enlightening process to speak with the state agencies about how they intend to use their portions of the budget and how their departments work. The General Assembly will take the next few months to go over what we’ve learned and work together to craft a budget that works for all Pennsylvanians. I’ll be looking out for YOU and 63,000+ people who are out there trying to #ThriveInThe185.

Community Budget Briefing
|
Thursday night in South Philadelphia, the Appropriations Committee and the Philadelphia House Delegation held a Community Budget Briefing to inform people about the $51 billion+ state budget proposal, the budget process, and how we’re fighting for the people of Philadelphia and neighboring communities in our budget priorities. You can watch the full event above to find out what our legislative leaders had to say – then feel free to reach out to my office about the needs of your neighborhood and how we can make the budget work for YOU.

Happy Women’s History Month!
|
I think it’s so important for women to share their stories to help uplift and encourage other women to achieve more than they might think they can do. That’s why I’m sharing stories of my life for Women’s History Month in a series of videos. Click above to watch my latest discussion about how I gained the confidence to be a public official and what it takes to become your own best advocate.

During our first Women in Government event, we talked a lot about the actions that are happening right now with the federal government in Washington, D.C. It has been very overwhelming with what seems like daily attacks on our neighbors, our freedoms and basic rights. Just remember that there are always people to help. If you are concerned about the actions being taken on immigration, I encourage you to contact these local organizations listed in this document. Additionally, while my office is here to assist you with state and local services, your concerns on these federal actions need to be heard by your federal officials. Check out the list of our congressional and senatorial officials and contact their offices for assistance or to let them know about your concerns. We’ve seen recently how advocacy and loud objections can lead to a course reversal or reevaluation by the president and his administration.
Don’t give up and don’t give in.
Know your rights and stay vigilant for your family and your community.

Mr. Jennings is one of our brave Navy veterans of WWII and it was my honor to present him with an honorary citation from the PA House of Representatives recognizing his momentous birthday and his contributions to our community.
