Steele announces more than $299,000 awarded for local fire companies, EMS

ASPINWALL, Feb. 16 – Today, Rep. Mandy Steele, D-Allegheny, announced that the Office of the State Fire Commissioner awarded $299,793.76 in funding to fire companies and emergency medical services providers in the 33rd Legislative District.

“This funding ensures emergency responders will have the resources needed to respond to emergencies,” Steele said. “These funds are especially important, considering there is a shortage of firefighters and EMS providers. I will continue to advocate for funding to provide assistance to emergency responders so that our communities remain safe.”

The grants include:

  • $29,368.42 to Southern Allegheny Valley Emergency Services.
  • $25,006.77 to Citizens Volunteer Fire Hose Company No. 1.
  • $23,645.11 to Parkview Plan Volunteer Fire Department.
  • $15,590.33 to Volunteer Fire Co. of Rural Ridge.
  • $15,395.81 to Fox Chapel Volunteer Fire Department.
  • $15,395.81 to Hilltop Hose Co. No. 3.
  • $15,006.77 to Blawnox and Glenover Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $15,006.77 to Harrison Hill Volunteer Fire Co. No. 4.
  • $15,000 to Lower Valley Ambulance Service.
  • $14,617.72 to Indiana Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 1.
  • $14,228.68 to Summit Hose Co.
  • $13,839.63 to Springdale Volunteer Fire Co.
  • $13,645.11 to Frazer Township Fire Department No. 2.
  • $13,645.11 to Pioneer Hose Co.
  • $13,256.07 to Frazer Township Volunteer Fire Department No. 1.
  • $13,061.55 to East Deer Volunteer Hose Co.
  • $13,061.55 to Fawn Township Volunteer Fire Department No. 1.
  • $13,061.55 to Fawn Township Volunteer Fire Co. No. 2.
  • $7,961 to Foxwall Emergency Medical Services.

Act 91 of 2020 authorized the Fire Company and Medical Services Grant Program until June 30.
