Legislator Of The Year from hunting advocacy group
I’m proud to share that I’ve received the Legislator Of The Year award from Hunters United for Sunday Hunting! This is a true honor because this impressive group worked tirelessly for many years on behalf of Pennsylvania’s hunters. Their work was instrumental in getting the archaic prohibition on Sunday hunting lifted. My bill to lift the ban became law because of the work they did before me. I will continue to be a major advocate for hunting in PA and will continue to rely on my HUSH friends for guidance and advice. I want to thank them and let everyone know I will proudly display this award!

Our bipartisan tour of Crane Clean Energy Center
As vice chair of the House Energy Committee and a member of the bipartisan Nuclear Caucus, this week I toured the Crane Clean Energy Center near Harrisburg with House and Senate members from both parties. Nuclear energy is an issue that cuts across party lines.
The advances happening right now are incredible! This is clean, reliable energy and I am proud that PA (especially Pittsburgh) is a respected leader in this space.

New law creates pathway to teaching for veterans
Gov. Josh Shapiro this week signed Act 41 of 2025, which addresses the state’s teacher shortage while giving veterans a pathway to teaching in career and technical education programs. The bill allows veterans’ service experience in a specific occupational area to count toward the credits for CTE teaching certification. This law will make it easier for veterans to become educators and share their valuable hands-on skills and experience with students.

Does the PA Treasury owe you money?
You might not realize it, but it’s entirely possible the PA Treasury has money that belongs to you. One in ten Pennsylvania residents has unclaimed property, with the average claim exceeding $1,000. The Treasury receives billions of dollars in unclaimed property, often due to misspelled names or incorrect addresses.
To see if you have unclaimed property waiting for you, visit here.

Be advised: Deer crossing roads more frequently
It’s that time of year when deer become increasingly active, so the PA Game Commission is advising motorists to slow down and stay alert. Deer become more active in autumn with the lead-up to their fall breeding season, and when Daylight Saving Time ends Nov. 2, there also will be increased vehicular traffic around dusk and dawn – the peak hours for deer activity.
