DRAVOSBURG, June 29 – State Rep. Nick Pisciottano announced a total of $224,010 in grants have been awarded to local volunteer fire and emergency medical services companies. Pisciottano, D-Allegheny, said the annual Fire Company and Emergency Medical Service Grant Program, which is overseen by the Office of the State Fire Commissioner, provides funding for volunteer and career fire companies, emergency medical services and rescue squads. “Our first responders have continued, time and time again, to answer the call, even during the pandemic,” said Pisciottano. “Many of them struggled to keep their doors open during that time and were unable to conduct fundraising activities. These funds will be instrumental in helping our volunteer fire and EMS companies to continue to serve our communities.” The grants awarded are as follows: Baldwin Emergency Medical Services (EMS): $11,520. Baldwin Independent Fire Co.: $14,193. Broughton Volunteer Fire Department : $15,000. Citizens Hose Co. #1 : $15,000. Dravosburg Volunteer Fire Co. #1 : $13,837.
