Pisciottano leads on labor, energy and workforce development

Allegheny County legislator to chair new Policy subcommittee

HARRISBURG, Dec. 8 – As an unwavering advocate for workers and a fairer economy throughout his first term, state Rep. Nick Pisciottano, D-Allegheny, has been appointed chair of the newly formed House Democratic Policy Subcommittee on Labor, Energy and Development.

“Pennsylvania is known for its well-trained labor force,” said Pisciottano. “This subcommittee is focused on policy solutions that protect workers and develop the workforce while expanding opportunities for responsible energy growth and economic development throughout the Commonwealth.”

Pisciottano thanked state Rep. Ryan Bizzarro, D-Erie, who chairs the House Democratic Policy Committee, for selecting him to lead and said he is eager to continue building upon Pennsylvania’s reputation as a national leader in labor and energy.

Bizzarro described Pisciottano as the “perfect choice” to head the new subcommittee, noting his steadfast support for labor and his continuing efforts to hold corporations accountable in the state.

In recent weeks, Pisciottano was unanimously elected by his colleagues to chair the Allegheny County House Democratic Delegation, replacing Lt. Gov.-elect Austin Davis.

Pisciottano will be sworn in for his second term in the state House on Jan. 3.
