Nelson Weekly Update for Nov. 27, 2024: Happy Thanksgiving

We have recently switched to a new email program. For those who have previously received our emails, much of what you see will look familiar. For those who are new, welcome! I send out weekly emails to update residents on local and state issues that impact our communities. If you are interested in receiving these emails each week, please click here to subscribe.

Happy Thanksgiving to you and yours! This holiday season, as always, spend some time considering what you are thankful for, how others in your life have impacted you, and what you can do to impact the lives of others.

We’re proud to share that our office was able to provide Thanksgiving turkeys to over 50 community members in need. Thanks to your incredible generosity, we didn’t stop there—pumpkin pies, cranberry sauce, stuffing, yams, and potatoes were also included in the holiday meal packages. A special shoutout to our friends at the Share Food Program and the Jenkintown Food Cupboard for their invaluable partnership, not only in this initiative but for their year-round dedication to fighting hunger in our community. Together, we’re ensuring that no family has to face the holidays without a meal to enjoy.

For those traveling this weekend, we wish you safe travels, and for those hosting family and friends, we hope you savor every moment of togetherness. Thank you for making our community a shining example of kindness and care this Thanksgiving and beyond!

House Resolution 275 calls to honor Pennsylvania’s significant involvement in the Battle of the Bulge for its 80th anniversary in December.

Rep. Chris Pielli, the resolution’s sponsor, has created a survey (which can be accessed here) requesting history and memories about the Battle.
