Dear Neighbors,
As we come to an end of another week, I’d like to highlight a few important community initiatives and updates. First, National Drug Takeback Day is coming up, offering a great opportunity to safely dispose of unused medications. This helps prevent misuse and keeps our homes and neighborhoods safer.
We’re also observing National Fix a Leak Week, a reminder to check for leaks in your home. Taking the time to find and fix small leaks can save water, money, and prevent bigger issues in the future.
Additionally, we honor Scott Martin on his retirement from the Warrington Fire Company and share a video of a check presentation to Operation Eternal Gratitude to support our veterans. Lastly, I want to wish the Archbishop Wood girls basketball team the best of luck in its PIAA Class 5A semifinal game against Crestwood on Saturday. Go Vikings!
As always, if you have any questions or concerns, feel free to reply to this email or call my office at (215) 323-6997.
In Service,

As a Navy veteran and a member of the House Veterans Affairs and Emergency Preparedness Committee, I deeply understand the sacrifices our active-duty military personnel make every day. That’s why I was honored to invite students from Central Bucks South High School to the state Capitol this week. During their visit, I had the privilege of presenting them with a check to help support their efforts in sending care packages to American troops serving overseas.
Operation Eternal Gratitude, which was started by Central Bucks South students in 2001, continues to this day. It’s truly inspiring to see the students' ongoing dedication to showing our service members how much they are appreciated for their sacrifice. It’s a cause that means a lot to me, and I’m proud to support them in any way I can.

Don’t let the leak drain your utilities budget
|
The Pennsylvania Public Utility Commission is highlighting the importance of water conservation, efficiency, and safety during National Fix a Leak Week, running from March 17-23. Fixing household leaks is a simple, cost-effective way to conserve water and can reduce water bills by up to 10 percent. The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency reports that around 10 percent of homes have leaks that waste over 90 gallons of water per day, contributing to nearly 1 trillion gallons of wasted water each year nationwide. To assist residents in detecting and repairing leaks, the PUC and EPA offer several helpful tips:
- Compare your water usage to previous colder months (such as January or February). If a household of four exceeds 12,000 gallons in a month, there may be a significant leak.
- Check your water meter before and after a two-hour period of no water usage. A change in the meter reading could indicate a leak.
- Test toilets for leaks by adding a drop of food coloring to the tank. If color appears in the bowl after 10 minutes, a leak is present. (Be sure to flush immediately to avoid staining the tank.)
- Inspect faucet gaskets and pipe fittings for water around the outside of the pipe, which could indicate surface leaks.
For additional tips on leak detection and water conservation, visit the EPA’s WaterSense website.

PA Launches New Online Petition Center for Tax Appeals and Refund Requests
|
The Pennsylvania Department of Revenue has introduced a new Online Petition Center to help taxpayers file appeals and request refunds. This platform features a more user-friendly interface, a petition tracker, and enhanced security to streamline the tax-filing process. It also allows taxpayers to pause and save their petitions, with the option to return and complete them within 30 days.
The new system aims to improve accessibility and efficiency for Pennsylvania taxpayers by simplifying the petition process and reducing errors. It was developed by the Office of Administration in collaboration with the Department of Revenue as part of an ongoing effort to modernize state services and improve customer experience.
Users will need to create a Keystone Login account to access the Online Petition Center, which offers multi-factor authentication for added security. After registering, users will no longer have access to petitions submitted through the old system. For more information, click here.

A burning desire to serve his community
|
Recently, I was happy to take part in honoring Warrington Fire Company’s own Scott Martin on his retirement and recognize his dedication to the field of emergency services to our community. Over his 50 years, Martin served departments in New York, the Hartsville Fire Company, served on the Bucks County hazardous materials team, Warminster Fire Department and finally the Warrington Township Fire Company.
I presented him with an official Pennsylvania House of Representatives citation as well as a Commonwealth of Pennsylvania flag that I had flown over our Capitol building in his honor.
Thank you for being a pillar of our community!
Also, a special shout out to the Warrington Township Board of Supervisors for joining me in honoring Mr. Martin.
