Davidson announces more than a half million dollars in state grants

HARRISBURG, March 18 – State Rep. Nate Davidson, D-Cumberland/Dauphin, today announced more than $500,000 in state grants for four projects to improve quality of life in the 103rd Legislative District.

The funds were awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority via the Local Share Account, which distributes money from gaming revenues to counties to support projects in the public interest.

“I am thrilled to see the state revenue generated from PA casinos going back into the community. I am always proud to support projects that will improve safety and quality of life for my neighbors,” said Davidson.

The grants were awarded to:

• Cumberland Boulevard Pedestrian Connection Project, Camp Hill Borough — $144,388 for the construction of sidewalks, curb ramps, and crosswalks on the south side of Cumberland Boulevard between 26th and 27th streets.

• Adventure Park Improvements — Phase I, Cumberland County — $214,285 for the construction of a new pavilion at Adventure Park in Hampden and Silver Spring townships.

• New Hope Ministries West Shore Center Refrigeration Equipment, Lemoyne Borough — $21,784 for the purchase of an 18 ft. x 13 ft. x 8 ft. walk-in cooler/freezer to store and distribute approximately 12 pallets of perishable food to 1,400 low-income families.

• Laurel Hills Playground Transformation Project, East Pennsboro Township — $137,454 for the purchase and installation of accessible play structures, along with ADA-compliant, safety-rated surfacing and a safe, accessible path connecting the street to the playground area, as well as necessary site preparation and stormwater management measures.
